The event saw an enthusiastic participation of over 150 villagers from nearby villages of the Tuilang area, reflecting the deep concern and collective resolve of the community to tackle drug abuse.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Umashankar Verma, Chief Medical Officer of 112 Bn. CRPF, delivered a stirring lecture on Drug Abuse and its Harmful Effects on Society, particularly among the youth and adolescents. Drawing attention to the alarming rise in substance abuse and its devastating consequences on individuals and families, Dr. Verma emphasized that the fight against drugs begins at the grassroots level.
"Today's youth hold the key to a brighter future. If they fall prey to addiction, our society loses its strength, its vision, and its future leaders," Dr. Verma asserted. He urged the young participants to act as torchbearers in the battle against not just drug abuse, but also the rampant illegal poppy cultivation plaguing the region. His impassioned words resonated deeply with the audience, many of whom expressed renewed determination to protect their communities from the scourge of narcotics.
In addition to the awareness campaign, a free medical check-up camp was organized on the sidelines of the event. A large number of villagers availed the opportunity, receiving essential health consultations and guidance.
