The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), Sadar Hills, has announced the temporary suspension of its proposed 48-hour economic blockade along National Highway-2, which was scheduled to commence from the midnight of October 7 to October 9, 2025.

The decision came following an assurance from the Government of India, conveyed through the concerned district administrator, to take immediate steps toward resolving the abduction case of Mr. Kamginlen Chongloi, who was abducted at Makhan on October 2, 2025, and to strengthen security preparedness across the buffer zones.

CoTU stated that while the blockade is temporarily lifted in good faith, it reserves the right to reimpose the economic blockade on NH-2 without further notice if the concerned authorities fail to deliver on their commitments within the stipulated timeframe.

Expressing gratitude to the public, the Committee conveyed its heartfelt appreciation to the general populace and civil organisations for their unwavering support, resilience, and solidarity throughout these challenging times.
