Churachandpur Conducts Civil Defence Mock Drill "Operation Abhyaas"

The District Administration of Churachandpur successfully conducted a Civil Defence Mock Drill, Operation Abhyaas, today at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Tuinom, Churachandpur.

The drill, organized under the Civil Defence Rules, 1968, aimed to simulate an air raid scenario and test emergency preparedness across multiple government departments and stakeholders. Key participants included the Police, Fire Services, Assam Rifles, Health Department, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), and volunteers from NCC, NSS, NYK, and local educational institutions.

District Level Officers, dignitaries from the armed forces, NCC representatives, line officers, and staff from various departments attended the drill, reinforcing the significance of coordinated emergency response efforts.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S emphasized the importance of remaining calm and confident in crisis situations. "While our nation is facing challenges, it is our resolve and the confidence of the general public that will guide our forces," he stated. He urged participants to cooperate fully with authorities, stressing that safety should remain the highest priority. He also reassured that the exercise was not intended to create fear but rather to build confidence, establish safety protocols, and instill preparedness for future emergencies.

Key activities of the drill included air raid warning sirens, public safety announcements, emergency response activations, blackout simulations, search and rescue operations, and medical emergency setups. Civilians also received training on essential safety measures to enhance preparedness during hostile situations.
