In a prompt and coordinated operation, Assam Rifles alongwith Counter Explosive Device Unit (CEDU) successfully neutralized an imminent threat from multiple Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) based on command wire mechanism in Mata Village on NH 102B, located approximately 7 km southeast of Headquarter Veng, Churachandpur.

Acting on credible intelligence received from Sister agencies regarding the presence of three command-wire-based IEDs, each weighing approximately 750 grams, was confirmed in the general area of Mata village.

A joint team comprising personnel from  Assam Rifles, CEDU team and the Churachandpur Police swiftly mobilized and reached the location.
