Arambai Tenggol chief Korounganba Khuman has declared that Arambai Tenggol does not consider all Kukis as enemies.
AT chief Korounganba Khuman, fondly called Lungchingpurel by Arambai Tenggol members, made the statement while briefing media persons on the sidelines of a function held at Khurai Sagor Leikai on Saturday.
Korounganba said, “We do not consider all Kukis as our enemies. All we want is to resolve the issues of demographic imbalance, drugs, and illegal immigrants.”
The AT chief said that everyone is aware, and data have also shown, that there are people who have entered the State recently, leading to demographic imbalance.
Unless the issues of drugs and illegal immigrants in the State are resolved, there will be no solution to the problem in Manipur. As such, he said it is vital to implement the National Register of Citizens or a similar mechanism with a proper base year to identify illegal immigrants and then live together in harmony.
The AT chief also said, “Let the Kukis who have been living in the State for the past many years live as they are.”
He further stated that people’s representatives should set aside their vested interests and work unitedly to save the State. He added that Arambai Tenggol members are prepared to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the people.
