In a press briefing held at the Manipur Press Club in Imphal today, Arambai Tenggol leader Munindro welcomed the government's recent directive, Memorandum No. H-802/19/2021-HD-HD, issued on July 23. The document outlines measures to detect and deport undocumented migrants in the state.

“This is a long-overdue move that aligns with the aspirations of the indigenous people,” said Munindro. “Illegal immigration threatens not just our demography but also our land, culture, and security.”

The group reiterated its long-standing demand for the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and offered its full cooperation to assist authorities on the ground.

“We are ready to provide local insight, mobilize volunteers, and collaborate with government agencies. This is a shared mission to restore order and protect genuine residents,” Munindro said.

He added that the growing influx of illegal immigrants has placed strain on Manipur’s ethnic balance and cultural preservation, warning that unchecked migration could destabilize both the state and national security.

Arambai Tenggol expressed confidence in the leadership of both the Central and State governments and urged them to treat the memorandum as the beginning of a broader and sustained effort across the country.

The organization then appealed for public cooperation across all communities to preserve Manipur’s heritage and uphold law and order.
