
The Kuki Zo Council (KZC) on Tuesday declared that Kuki-Zo people cannot and shall not participate in the formation of the Government of Manipur.
KZC issued a release on Tuesday informing the elective political decision of the Kuki Zu people as resolved by apex representative bodies during a Kuki Zo Council Governing Council General Meeting held at the VTI Auditorium Rengkai, Churachandpur district on December 30.
KZC stated that the meeting undertook a careful and comprehensive assessment of the prevailing political, social, and security realities in Manipur.
After extensive deliberations and in reflection of the collective will and sentiment of the Kuki Zo people, the Governing Council unanimously adopted the several resolutions stated the release
"Considering the present realities and the unanimous sentiment that the Kuki-Zo people can no longer live together with the Meitei community, the Governing Council reaffirmed its political demand for a Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory under the Constitution of India. The KZC Governing Council unanimously resolved that that Kuki-Zo people cannot and shall not participate in the formation of the Government of Manipur” KZC stated.
The release stated that the KZC Cabinet, in its meeting held on Tuesday reaffirmed and endorsed the resolution of the meeting, stating unequivocally that it represents the collective and democratic wish of the Kuki-Za people and reiterates that the Kuki-Zo people cannot and shall not participate in the formation of the Government of Manipur under the present circumstances.
KZC made it clear that if any individual chooses to participate in the formation of the Government of Manipur, such participation shall be solely at his or her own responsibility, and the council shall not be held accountable in any manner.
