The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has unequivocally condemnsled the bombing incident carried out by unknown miscreants at Gamnomphai village near Seitol area of Churuchandpur district at around 5:40  to  8 in the morning today.

The Kuki-Zo Council appeals to the concerned authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident and to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest.

In a release issued on Monday, KZC stated that several people have been reported injured as a result of the explosion.

Such acts of violence are deeply disturbing, irresponsible, and pose a grave threat to peace, public safety, and communal harmony, stated the release.

KZC stated that the incident has occurred in and around the buffer zone area established by the security forces of the government with the sole purpose of preventing confrontation and safeguarding civilian lives.

KZC reiterates that the buffer zone must be strictly respected by all at all times and added that any violation of this neutral and sensitive area undermines the efforts of the security forces and escalates fear and mistrust among the general public.

The council termed it unfortunate and condemnable that such an incident has taken place during the ongoing Christmas-New Year festive season a time meant for peace, reflection, and togetherness.

"Instead, the act has instilled panic and insecurity among innocent civilians, disrupting normal life and threatening the fragile calm that people are striving to rebuild" stated the release

KZC also urged the security forces to further strengthen vigilance in and around buffer zone areas.
