Kuki Inpi Manipur General assembly commence in Hengbung, Kangpokpi reaffirming unity identity and collective progess for Kuki people

The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has proudly announces the commencement of the KIM General Assembly 2025, which will continue till December 4 at Hengbung Village, Kangpokpi District.

A release issued by KIM on December 2 stated that the assembly marks a significant milestone in reaffirming unity, identity, and collective progress for the Kuki people.

The release stated that the inaugural session began with the unveiling of the Assembly Monolith by Ch. Ajang Khongsai, President of KIM, reflecting the enduring foundation of the Kuki nation and and its commitment to a shared future.

In the inaugural session, the KIM Flag was ceremoniously hoisted, followed by a solemn consecration prayer led by Dr. T. Lunkim, invoking blessings for wisdom, harmony, and purposeful deliberation throughout the Assembly.

A special highlight of the opening program was the launch of the KIM souvenir by Haokholet Kipgen, Chief of Hengbung and MLA, 51-Saitu Assembly Constituency. The souvenir captures the vision, achievements, and ongoing efforts of KIM in safeguarding the rights and welfare of the Kuki people, stated the release.

The general assembly officially commenced with the Presidential address by Ch. Ajang Khongsai, stressing the urgent need for collective determination and unity among all Kuki people.

“Ajang emphasised that only through shared responsibility, cooperation, and steadfast resolve can the community pave a constructive way forward in the face of present challenges and future aspirations”, the release added.

It is stated that the assembly proceeded with deliberations on key agendas, focusing on strengthening administrative frameworks, enhancing community welfare, safeguarding Kuki identity, and charting strategic directions for the coming year.

Stating that the Kuki Inpi Manipur remains committed to fostering peace, progress, and unity, the release added that the assembly serves as a vital platform for collaborative decision-making and reaffirming the collective will of the Kuki people.
