Miscreants set on fire documents and properties inside Tuibong SDO office in Churachandpur

It is worth mentioning that there is an ongoing process of document submission for the IDPS at SDO office for the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Unknown miscreants set on fire documents and few office properties in Tuibong SDO office located at Kholmun Village on Monday night.

The incident happened amidst the ongoing process for registration of IDPs at SDO offoce for direct benefit transfer(DBT).

As per sources, the incident reportedly took place around  8 to 9 pm. As per residents living near the SDO office, they came to know of the incident after noticing a fire burning inside the office after which they also saw two youths fleeing from office.

Videos of the incident site circulating in social media shows that documents and other properties such as printer, chairs were set on fire.

As seen in the video, an individual can be heard claiming that the window glass of the office room where the incident took place were broken and the windows were also opened. When reporters visited the location on  Tuesday, they found out that incident occurred only inside a  particular room.

After learning the news of the incident, SDO staff also went to the office on Monday night. Many people who visited the incident site on Tuesday suspected that the miscreants could have used a sack dipped in fuel to set fire to the office properties.

It is worth mentioning that there is an ongoing process of document submission for the IDPS at SDO office for the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Till the time this report was filed, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident and it is not known why the office properties were set on fire.
