Fertilizers used by poppy cultivators destroyed in Ukhrul district

The Committee against Poppy Plantation Zalenbung area under Ukhrul district has destroyed fertilizers used by poppy cultivators stored in makeshift camp at Songphel, Mullam and Lamlai Chingphei areas under Ukhrul district on November 5.

A video of the committee members destroying the fertilizer bags and pouring the fertilizers on the ground were shared my many social media users.

In a release issued on November 5, the committee reminded all the poppy cultivators in the area that such destruction will be carried out anytime in the future.

The committee appeal to all the concerned authority, right thinkers, church leaders and individual to support and give full cooperation in total eradication of Poppy plantation in the area
