GUNCHU Celebrates 4th Foundation Day, Marks Remarkable Journey from Imphal to Kangpokpi with Over 100 Central Service Achievers

In a moving and momentous celebration, GUNCHU, an Institute for Competitive Examinations commemorated its 4th Foundation Day cum Thanksgiving Program at LNC Hall, Kangpokpi today — a milestone that reflects resilience, excellence, and dedication to shaping the future of young aspirants.

Founded in 2021 at Imphal, GUNCHU Coaching Institute has emerged as a leading center for academic and competitive excellence. Following the May 3, 2023 conflict, the institute was shifted to Kangpokpi District Headquarters, where it has since continued to thrive with renewed determination and commitment.

In a short span since its inception, GUNCHU has proudly produced over 100 successful candidates who have cracked various central competitive examinations, earning positions in central services — a remarkable achievement that cements its standing as one of the most promising coaching institutes in the region.

The foundation day cum thanksgiving ceremony was graced by Rev. K. Hangsing, Chairman of the Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship (KTCF), as Minister of the Day, with SL. Kamkhohao, MPS, Addl. SP (L&O) Kangpokpi on behalf of Abhinav, IPS, SP Kangpokpi serving as the Chief Guest. The event also featured N. Shokhongam Baite, MCS, ADM Kangpokpi and Laminmilan Simte, MCS, SDO Champhai as Guests of Honour, alongside Doujapao Haokip, MCS, CEO Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi as the Functional President.

The program began with a soulful special number by Sarah Haokip, followed by an opening prayer by Joycy and a welcome speech by Dr. Thangboi, who highlighted the institute’s inspiring journey from Imphal to Kangpokpi.

The cake-cutting and blessing prayer by the Minister symbolized gratitude for GUNCHU’s growth amid challenges.

A presentation by Thangboi, founder of GUNCHU Coaching Institute showcased the institute’s milestones, academic strategies, and future goals, followed by inspiring speeches from the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, and the Functional President, all of whom lauded GUNCHU for its outstanding contribution to education and public service training.

The event also featured cultural and artistic highlights, including performances by Tingngaiching Kipgen, Lamgougin Vaiphei, and a dance performance by Anjali and Rahul, adding vibrancy to the day of thanksgiving. Teachers, students, and special invitees shared heartfelt speeches reflecting on their experiences and the institute’s transformative impact.

Delivering the Vote of Thanks, Boboi expressed deep appreciation to all guests and supporters, while the closing prayer by the Minister brought the ceremony to a solemn conclusion.

The gathering was joined by representatives from KSO-GHQ, KSO Sadar Hills, CoTU, KTC, KWWO, KWU, KYU, ZILLAI, TAYA, KYA, and GSO, symbolizing unity and collaboration within the educational and civil community.

As GUNCHU celebrates its fourth year, its journey from Imphal to Kangpokpi stands as a powerful testament to perseverance and purpose. With over 100 central service achievers in just four years, the institute continues to illuminate the path of opportunity for hundreds of students, proving that education and determination can triumph even in the face of adversity.
