The Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, Dharun Kumar, today convened a press conference at his office chamber to address reports that some internally displaced persons (IDPs) have not yet received the ₹25,000 instalment under the ₹1 lakh compensation scheme meant for all displaced families.
The DC informed that as of date, 2,179 forms from Churachandpur belonging to other districts have been forwarded for processing. These include: Imphal West – 628, Imphal East – 179, Chandel – 462, Tengnoupal – 29, Kangpokpi – 833, Ukhrul – 6, Bishnupur – 5, Jiribam – 30, Tamenglong – 1, Senapati – 5, and Kakching – 1.
He reiterated that families who have not yet submitted their details or received compensation should approach their nearest Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) for assistance. The DC added that the administration has already made four separate announcements urging displaced families to submit details of damaged property and relevant forms to their respective SDOs or Deputy Commissioners of their home districts to facilitate timely disbursement.
For Churachandpur district, Kumar confirmed that compensation ranging from the initial ₹25,000 up to ₹1 lakh has already been disbursed to all eligible displaced families.
He appealed to any displaced persons originally from Churachandpur who have not yet received their payment to contact their respective SDO offices without delay.
