CDSA Golden Jubilee Cup 2025: UKB subsided pressure to emerge champions

The historic CDSA Golden Jubilee Cup 2025 organised by Churachandpur District Sports' Association (CDSA) with the support of Chikim Group Private Limited had drawn into conclusion yesterday at the iconic Lamka Football Ground, Hiangtam Lamka, Churachandpur, with United Khawzim Brothers (UKB) emerging champions after beating Dynamic Football Academy in an absorbing penalty shoot-out.

The final match and the closing ceremony, which was played in front of a packed Lamka Football Ground, was graced by Shri Alfred Kanngam S Arthur, MP Outer Manipur; LM Khaute, MLA 58-Ccpur; Khaan Vaiphei, CEO Chikim Group as Chief Guest, Functional President and Chief Host respectively while Chinlunthang, MLA Singngat; Shri Paolienlal Haokip, MLA Saikot; Ngursanglur Sanate, MLA Tipaimukh; Letzamang Haokip, MLA Henglep; and Vungzagin Valte, MLA Thanlon, as well as Thangkhosuanmung Guite, Chief of Hiangtam and T. Manga Vaiphei, Ex-Minister & Working President, MPCC had also graced the programme as Guests of Honour.

The final match was played between United Khawzim Brothers and Dynamic Football Academy but neither sides managed to score a goal during the entire regulation period thus forcing a penalty shoot-out to decide the winners where UKB prevailed with a 3-1 win to clinch the title.

Champions United Khawzim Brothers walked away with a Trophy and cash incentives of ₹1 Lakh while runners-up Dynamic Football Academy pocked a sum of ₹50,000/- along with a Trophy.

On the individual front, Muankhanlian of Happy Feet Football Academy won the Top-Scorer Award with 6 goals while William Neihsial, who played a crucial role in guiding UKB to the title, won the Best Player Award, and long-serving goalkeeper L. Jeson Vaiphei won the Best Goalkeeper Award for his immense contribution in UKB's feat with them finishing the tournament without conceding even a single goal.

UKB are one of the greatest football clubs in Churachandpur and played in Manipur's top-flight league before the outbreak of the present Manipur conflict. Meanwhile, Dynamic Football Academy are the first football academy in Churachandpur District to ever reach a mega football tournament final in the district.

The tournament was participated by 16 strong clubs across Churachandpur District.
