The highly anticipated 2nd edition of the Lamka Academy League 2025 got off to a thrilling start today at four different venues across Lamka, Churachandpur.

In this seasonal academy league, competitions in three different age groups — Under-10, Under-13, and Under-15 — are being conducted in the first phase. The remaining age-group leagues will take place a few months later.

Today, eight matches of Group A in the Under-10 Category League were held at PLD Turf, Thingkangphai, while five matches of the Under-13 Category League were conducted simultaneously at Get Fit Turf, Songza Khopi, Tuibong, and MKP Turf, Koite.

Meanwhile, Under-15 Category League matches were played at Saikot Playground.

Altogether, 16 teams from various football academies in Lamka participated in the Under-10 Category League, while the Under-13 League featured 20 teams. For the Under-15 Category, 8 teams will be vying for top honours.

The Under-10 and Under-13 leagues will follow a format where the pool champions of Groups A and B will play in the final match. In contrast, the Under-15 Category League will follow a knockout format, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals, and the winners proceeding to the final.

The leagues are organised by the Lamka Academy League Management Team, and the champions will be awarded trophies and cash incentives. It is also worth noting that all league matches will take place only on weekends to avoid disrupting the academic performance of the players in school.
