Mizoram–Manipur(Churachandpur) Inter-State Bus Service to Begin October 1

Two 21-seater buses will be operating daily between Sairang in Mizoram and Churachandpur district in Manipur under the VK Tawna Inter-State Bus Service, with regular operations scheduled to begin from October 1.

On Tuesday, Mizoram transport Minister Vanlalhlana flagged off the buses at the Transport Office premises in Chaltlang. The Sairang–Churachandpur route covers approximately 360 km and is expected to take around 12 hours of travel.

The bus fare has been fixed at Rs. 2,500 per passenger and tickets can be booked online through the VK Tawna Bus Service mobile application.

 Speaking at the occasion, Transport Minister Vanlalhlana said the bus service is intended to ease the difficulties faced by people travelling between Mizoram and Manipur, particularly amid the continuing challenges arising from the conflict in Manipur.

The minister expressed hope that improved connectivity would strengthen ties and facilitate greater interaction among communities across the two states.

Er. H. Ginzalala, MLA and Adviser to the Chief Minister (Technical) who was present at the function said that connectivity is an important component of development and urged passengers to uphold law and order while travelling.

Siamnunlian Valte, CEO of VK Tawna Travels, outlined the operational arrangements, while Transport Department Director Er. R. Lalrammawia briefed attendees on regulatory and logistical aspects of the route. The ceremony was attended by members of the Mizoram State Transport Authority, Transport Department officials and representatives of VK Tawna Travels.
