Landslides in Tamenglong Disrupt Vehicular Movement Along NH-37 (Imphal–Jiribam) on Thursday

Landslides at two separate locations disrupted vehicular movement along National Highway-37 (Imphal–Silchar via Jiribam) in Tamenglong district following overnight rainfall.

The landslides were reported between Shantikhunou (Duikaklong) and Kaiphundai, and between Longkao II and Longkao III.

Officials initiated road clearance operations early in the morning and have partially cleared both sites.

As of the filing of this report, light vehicles have been allowed to pass with caution. However, heavy vehicles remain stranded, and it is likely to take several more hours before the highway is fully reopened to all traffic.
