The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) on Saturday organised a peaceful solidarity rally in Imphal, demanding justice for the six Naga hostages who were allegedly abducted and killed last month.
Youths from both Naga and Meitei communities participated in the rally, which began at Kabo Leikai Mao Market and proceeded to Khoyathong Traffic Point, after which the participants returned to the starting point.
The participants held placards and banners seeking justice for the victims.
Speaking to the media, ANSAM president Th. Angteshang Maring said that more than 30 days had passed since the incident, but no arrests had been made.
Accusing the government of failing to act sincerely, Angteshang urged the authorities to immediately apprehend those responsible.
The ANSAM president also reiterated the demands raised by the United Naga Council (UNC), including a thorough investigation into the alleged involvement of the KNF(P), declaring the outfit a terrorist organisation, and abrogating the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement, claiming it had been misused.
He also urged the government to investigate all those named by the victims' families and ensure that justice is delivered without delay.
