Samridhi Ki Pathshala’ Awareness Programme held at Penjang Village in Churachandpur

One-day awareness program titled “Samridhi Ki Pathshala” was held on Saturday at Pengjang Village in Kangvai Sub-Division in Churachandpur district of Manipur

The program organise by the District Administration, Churachandpur, in collaboration with the M.I Department, Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, and CADA Department. aimed to promote efficient water management, participatory irrigation practices, and awareness about government support schemes for farmers

Jameson Hangsing, Project Director at the DRDA delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the significance of efficient water use, participatory irrigation management, and district-level initiatives aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainable farming practices.

Audio-visual presentations were screened during the program to provide participants with an overview of the Samridhi (M-CADWM) Scheme and its advantages for farmers and rural communities.

State Nodal Officer Serto Alin Kom, AE, MI, addressed the gathering, discussing the state-level implementation strategy and the anticipated outcomes of the scheme. A Ministry official also spoke about the key features of the program, government support mechanisms, and the convergence aspects.

A representative from the Central Water Commission (CWC) shared technical insights on irrigation practices and efficient water management. Additionally, a DDR Consultant presented updates on cluster-level activities and implementation frameworks.

Representatives from farmers and Water User Societies (WUS) shared their local experiences and highlighted the crucial role of WUS and community participation in ensuring the successful implementation of the scheme at the grassroots level.

The program saw active participation from stakeholders, reflecting a strong community commitment to the successful implementation of the irrigation modernization initiative and was attended by several key figures, including Shubham Pachauri, Deputy Director, Ministry of Jalshakti; Mohan Kumar, Superintendent Engineer, CWC; Vivek Bhushan Fuley, Senior Technical Assistant, CADWM; Vaibhav Daure, Irrigation Specialist; Sandeep Chourasia, GIS Consultant; Rajat Jangid, Assistant Section Officer, Ministry of Jalshakti; Mangminthang Gangte, SDO/Kangvai; and staff from line departments and members of the farming community.
