
In recognition of its exceptional performance and dedicated service, the Churachandpur District Police has been awarded the prestigious Governor’s Unit Citation for the year 2025–2026.
Over the past year, the district police demonstrated remarkable professionalism across a wide spectrum of law enforcement activities. Authorities reported the arrest of 150 individuals involved in serious offences under laws such as the NDPS Act, Arms Act, POCSO Act, UAPA, and other criminal provisions.
A major highlight of the force’s achievements was its intensified anti-drug operations. Police conducted 40 significant seizures of narcotics, collectively valued at ₹123.6 crore. In a strong crackdown on illegal cultivation, more than 150 acres of illicit poppy fields were identified and destroyed.
The district also saw notable success in counter-insurgency efforts. Security operations led to the recovery of 285 firearms along with ammunition, explosives, and other war-like materials, significantly enhancing regional safety.
In the realm of cybercrime, the District Police Cyber Cell successfully recovered 160 stolen mobile phones, reflecting growing efficiency in digital policing.
Officials further noted that proactive policing measures contributed to a reduction in violence across the district. The force also ensured seamless security arrangements during high-profile visits, including that of the Honourable Prime Minister. Community engagement remained a priority, with several initiatives strengthening trust and cooperation between the police and the public.
The Superintendent of Police (SP), Churachandpur, received the Governor’s Unit Citation on behalf of all ranks and personnel of the district police, marking a moment of pride and recognition for their collective efforts.
