
One day Training Programme on Packaging of Food and Non-Food Products of Manipur was organised at Synod Conference Hallm Churachandpur district on Thursday.
Owners of different small business and enterprises in the district took part in the training. Deputy director Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Kolkata branch Dr. Nilay Kanti Pramanik gave detailed presentation and valuable inputs to the participants.
Speaking to IANS, Deputy Director Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Kolkata branch Dr. Nilay Kanti Pramanik said the training is organize for small enterprises engaging in food products and handloom and handicrafts products.
He said that the training is given to improve the packaging and branding so that they can get a market and sell their products outside Manipur.
On being asked the importance of packaging in market, Nilay said now a days packaging is the medium of marketing and it is also called silent salesmen.
He added that a good packaging will attract the customers and will help in marketing.
One of the participants in the training Tingcha Gangte said that if a packaging unit or industry is set up in Churachandpur, many entrepreneurs can get benefit from it.
She also expressed her wish to see such training being organized more frequently in the district.
