
The Naga People's Organisation (NPO) resolved to call for an immediate counter-bandh, effective immediately in response to the ongoing bandh called by Committee on Tribal Unity( CoTU) in Kangpokpi district.
NPO issued a release on Wednesday urging all concerned authorities to take serious note of the situation and ensure the safety, dignity, and free movement of the public.
The organisation appeals to the people to extend full cooperation, maintain discipline, and uphold unity during this critical period.
"Despite the joint press release issued by the United Naga Council (UNC) and the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) has continued its bandh, causing serious inconvenience and hardship to Naga commuters" NPO stated.
The ongoing bandh has severely disrupted the movement of Naga people, particularly those travelling for medical treatment and flight-related purposes, resulting in immense suffering to the general public. Such actions, even after an appeal for restraint and peaceful resolution, are highly condemnable. irresponsible, and unacceptable stated the release
"In view of this continued disturbance, disregard for public welfare, and violation of basic human rights, the Naga People's Organisation (NPO) has resolved to call for an immediate counter-bandh, effective immediately" ,NPO stated.
