Even though the Kuki-Zo apex bodies in Manipur did not organize the Kuki Black Day observation this year due to the Prime Minister’s visit to Imphal and Churachandpur, the day was nonetheless observed in various locations by the Kuki-Zo community.
The 32nd Kuki Black Day was solemnly observed at the Conference Hall of the Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh.
Organized by HTC and attended by leaders and representatives from various civil society organizations—including the Kuki Chiefs' Association, Moreh Block; Moreh Youth Club; Kuki Women Union and Human Rights, Moreh Block; Kuki Students’ Organization, Moreh Block; and Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi, Moreh Block—the observance featured a message of hope and healing from the Moreh Pastor Fellowship. The fellowship shared the Gospel and encouraged a life of faith and unity.
HTC Speaker Mangminlein Singson delivered the keynote address, providing a comprehensive overview of the significance of Kuki Black Day and its historical context.
His speech emphasized the importance of remembering the past while fostering unity and understanding within the community.
Kuki-Zo CSOs in Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi District, observed the day at the KSO Sadar Hills office. Kuki Inpi Delhi & NCR marked the occasion at the Kuki Worship Service Delhi Activity Centre, Munirka, Delhi. Additionally, the day was observed in various other areas and churches.
